On the XO Laptop

[December 13, 2007: The “IBM XO Club” now has its own site: IBM XO Club, and future work will be found there. This page is being retained to record the comments made to it.]

This is an informal list of IBMers known to have ordered XO’s.

By the way, if you work for IBM, have ordered an XO, and would like to be added to this list, then send me an email or make a comment to this post.

  3. Yup – I actually bought one about 5 min before Jim Gettys started his keynote at the recent ApacheCon US in Atlanta. Or rather, one plus one. Jim mentioned the first shipments are going to Uganda. The other one is for my daughter, who is young enough to appreciate it.

I was pondering getting one beforehand but never had time. After talking to Jim and hearing his estimates of production rates, I figured I’d better buy one before his keynote in front of our 300+ attendees, rather than afterwards. 😎 As a very online conference, it was fun to watch the backchannel irc and the network graph of traffic. During keynotes, you could plot some of the major points the speaker made by the bump in traffic.
